Watch the 2018 Winter Olympics, Feb. 8-25

The 2018 Winter Olympics will feature 95 countries, 102 events in 15 sports, making it the first Winter Olympics to surpass 100 medal events. Four new disciplines in existing sports were introduced to this year, including big air snowboarding, mixed doubles curling, mass start speed skating, and mixed team alpine skiing.

The Games will once again be broadcast by NBC and it’s affiliates. NBC television coverage will begin with Alpine Skiing and Ski Jumping events on Feb. 8, followed by the Opening Ceremony on Friday, Feb. 9, with primetime coverage on NBC running through the closing ceremony on Sunday, Feb. 25. Mike Tirico will host primetime coverage for the first time, replacing long-time host Bob Costas who retired last year.

This year NBC announced that it would air most primetime coverage simultaneously in all time zones in the United States, with a minimal amount of tape delay. A wide array of NBC Universal networks will host extensive Olympic coverage throughout the games.
