With Premier Internet service comes a complimentary Email address, ending in @premieronline.net or @mtcnet.net. Learn how to make the best use of your email address through setup and management.Premier Email Passwords
Change or reset your Premier email password
We recently introduced a new self-service feature for Premier Email customers.
Customers now have the ability, through SurgeWeb, to:

Change their email password
-
Set up security questions (used to initiate password reset)
-
Add a recovery email address (used to initiate password reset)
⚠️ Important Note
This process is not intended for immediate password recovery when you are locked out.
Instead, it is designed for when you are already logged in and want to set up or manage your own password security for future use.
🔧 How Customers Can Change Their Password
Customers can follow these steps:

Log in to SurgeWeb Mail

Click Options
-
Select Preferences
-
Click General
-
Choose Change Password
The email login page now also has the “Forgot Password” option in the bottom right corner (shown below).

✅ What Happens Next
After selecting Change Password, you will be taken to a screen where you can:

Update your password

Set up security questions (used to initiate password reset)

Add a recovery email address (used to initiate password reset)

💡 Recommendation
Complete this setup before you encounter login issues, so you can easily reset your password on your own in the future. Setting up your security questions and/or adding a recovery email address is the only way to initiate password recovery later.
If you are locked out and neither has been completed, you will not be able to recover your password on your own.
If you are stuck, you may contact our Help Desk at 712-722-6062, and a member of our Help Desk team will help you. This is your option if you are locked out and did not set up security questions or a recovery email address.
Before calling, please have your account number available, as it will be needed to verify your account.
🧑💻 Reminder: Password requirements
Your new password must meet the following criteria:

At least six characters long
-
Includes at least one lowercase letter
-
Includes at least one number
-
Includes at least one special character
-
Cannot reuse more than half the characters from your username
For a smoother experience, we recommend having your new password ready and written down before calling in.
Set Up Email on Your Computer
Set up your Premier email account using Outlook
Here are the steps for setting up your IMAP account using Outlook on your computer:
1. Open Settings on your computer. Choose "Email & accounts."

2. Click "Add an account."

3. Choose "Advanced setup."

4. Select "Internet email."

5. Enter your mail server settings for your IMAP account as shown below. When this window has been filled in, click "Sign in."

6. Your email is now set up.
Set up your Premier email account using Apple Mail (for Apple computers)
Use the following steps to set up your mail account using Apple Mail:
1. Launch the Mail app.
2. Select "Other Mail Account..." and click "Continue."

3. Enter your name, email address, and password. Click "Sign In."

4. If prompted, verify your account by filling in the following information. Make sure the Account Type is IMAP and the Incoming and Outgoing Mail Servers are correct. Then click "Sign In."

5. Choose which apps you want to use with the account (the Mail app should be selected). Click "Done" to complete your account setup.

Set Up Email on your Smartphone or Tablet
Set up your Premier email account on your iPhone or iPad
Here are the steps to set up email on your iPhone or iPad:
1. Open the "Settings" app.
2. Tap the "Mail" menu. Then tap "Accounts."

3. You will see a list of email accounts if any are set up already. Choose "Add Account."

4. Choose "Other."

5. Tap on "Add Mail Account."

6. Enter your email address and password and tap "Next."

7. Select IMAP for the account type. Fill in the Incoming and Outgoing Mail Server information as shown below.
*Note: Use your full email address for the username. You will need to enter your full email address and password under the Outgoing Mail Server even though it may say that they are optional. Once entered, tap "Next."

8. Your mail application will check to see if it can connect to your incoming and outgoing mail server. If successful, it will create and save your account.
*Note: To specifically edit your settings/preferences for your premieronline.net account in the future, you can access it though Settings > Mail > Accounts. Then select your premieronline.net account.
Set up your Premier email account on your Android phone or tablet
Here are some basic guidelines for setting up your premieronline.net email account on your Android phone. Keep in mind you may need to change some settings in the email program on your computer to receive email on both devices. To set up your account:
1. Go to Settings and choose "Add Account" under the "Account Setup" menu.

2. Enter your email address and password. Then choose "Manual Setup."
3. Select "IMAP" for the account type.

4. Enter your full email address as the username when setting up the incoming (IMAP) server settings.

5. Enter imap.premieronline.net and change the Port to 993.

6. For the outgoing mail (SMTP) server settings, verify that the port is 587 and be sure to enter your entire email address as the username.

7. You can adjust your account settings.
8. Enter your display name and finish the account setup.

Troubleshoot
Premier Email is giving a “mailbox full” message
Premier Communications provides a default of 150Mb of email server storage. We recommend that you set up email as an IMAP account on your PC. Also make sure to check your email preferences to verify that your email program (Outlook, Windows Mail, Windows Live Mail, Apple Mail, etc.) is set to "remove messages from the server" after 5 days or less.
