Sun Outage Notice

Twice each year, the sun is positioned directly in line with Premier’s satellite dish that is used to receive Cable TV programming. This positioning causes programming interruptions as the sun’s energy overpowers some of the signals transmitted by the satellites.

How does this affect you?

If you have Premier’s Cable TV services, you may notice that certain TV channels will “black out” or freeze for several minutes.

When will this happen?

Premier will possibly have issues with the satellite from which we receive most of our content between October 7-12 around 1:50-1:55 PM (CST) each day. Other receivers that are fed from different satellites could see issues earlier or later in day depending on the satellite’s orbital position.

Over the next several weeks, if you notice that your Cable TV programming does not show normally for 10-15 minutes during the afternoon it could be a sun outage. If normal programming does not resume after 10-20 minutes, please give us a call at 800-741-8351, we will likely need to reboot your digital receiver.
